A Forex Card is a prepaid card that’s only intended for individuals traveling to other countries.

Users can pre-load their Forex card with the country’s currency they wish to visit, so they won’t have to carry cash or traveler cheques.

Activating the contactless service

HDFC forex allows contactless transactions for all cards except commercial cards. You can activate the contactless service through the card login page by clicking on the ‘Contactless’ tab.

You can activate or deactivate this facility at the card login portal through the contactless tab.

What happens when your card gets stolen or lost? Follow these steps:

  1. Log in to Prepaid Card Netbanking with your User ID and password.
  2. Go to the menu and select “Contactless.”
  3. Scroll down and enter the PIN on the back of your card.

In case the card gets stolen /lost while traveling, you have an option to block it immediately through a toll-free number or by calling their customer service representatives.

You can then receive a replacement card within 48 hours in India and 7 days for international replacements.

All these services come free with HDFC bank forex cards. You get a free accidental insurance cover of up to Rs 1 lac for all types of forex cards.

In addition to this, if your card gets lost while traveling internationally, the bank will refund the cost of emergency expenses incurred during the trip.
